What Is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a precise method of permanent hair removal that treats each hair follicle individually.
During treatment, a very fine sterile probe is gently inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle. A controlled electrical current is delivered to permanently disable the follicle's ability to produce another hair. The treated hair is then gently removed with tweezers.
Because every follicle is treated individually, electrolysis offers unmatched precision and can safely treat even small or delicate areas of the face and body.

How Does Electrolysis Work?
Hair grows in cycles, and not every hair is actively growing at the same time.
Only hairs that are present can be treated during each appointment. As dormant hairs naturally enter their growth phase, they become visible and are then treated during future visits.
This is why multiple appointments are necessary—not because the treated hairs are growing back, but because new hairs from different follicles are becoming active over time.
Will My Hair Get Finer?
Yes.
As treatment progresses, you'll notice fewer hairs returning. Remaining hairs often become finer, softer, and less noticeable over time.

Can Electrolysis Burn or Scar?
Temporary redness and mild swelling are completely normal after treatment.
Occasionally, tiny pinpoint scabs may form as part of the normal healing process. These should be allowed to heal naturally.

Preparing for Your Appointment
For the best possible results:
DO
Practice good hygiene! Arrive with clean hair and face if we are treating hair on your face or neck, and freshly laundered pair of bikini or brief underwear for a bikini line treatment, and thoroughly bathe for body work.
Avoid applying lotions, oils, deodorants, or makeup on the treatment area. Clean skin reduces the risk of irritation and inflammation.
Stay well hydrated.
Arrive with clean skin.
Do NOT shave immediately before your appointment, let the hair grow enough to be visible.
Pick up and apply your complimentary numbing cream before your appointment if desired.
DON'T
Tweeze, wax, thread, or use depilatory creams between treatments.
Use Retin-A®, tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene, or other prescription retinoids on the treatment area for approximately one week beforehand.
Avoid aggressive exfoliation, chemical peels, or microneedling on the treatment area for several days before treatment.
Limit excessive caffeine the day of your appointment if you're particularly sensitive, as it may increase discomfort.
Avoid excessive sun exposure or sunburn before treatment.
If you are taking prescription medications or have questions about skin care products, we'll review everything during your consultation.
After Your Treatment
Following treatment, you may experience:
Mild redness
Slight swelling
Temporary warmth
Small pinpoint scabs
These responses are normal and typically resolve within several days.
For the first 24–48 hours, we recommend:
An ice pack may be applied for comfort or for swelling, if desired.
Avoid touching the area unnecessarily. If pustules appear, clean with hydrogen peroxide 3-5 times daily and AVOID squeezing.
Keep the area clean. Do not apply makeup to the treatment area for at least 24 hours.
Avoid heavy sweating following treatment.
Skip hot tubs, saunas, and swimming pools for 3-5 days after treatment.
Avoid picking or scratching the skin.
Avoid harsh skin care products, acids, retinoids, or exfoliants until the skin has healed.
Wear SPF 30 sunscreen daily on treated facial areas.
